In the teaching - learning process objectives and contents
About the teaching/learning process, it would be desirable to start with uppercase letters, because the form of writing is simpler, since it is articulated on a single space bounded by two lines (bilinear writing): in fact, all letters have the same height, starting from the top line and ending at the bottom, while the small print (as well as the cursive) are written on three spatial spaces , in which the lines of demarcation of the space are four (quadrilinear writing).
This is important in the first step of teaching in the first class of primary school.
Anyway, the importance of writing is not “how you write” but “what you write”.
Teachers can use two different approaches to work with students with dysgraphia. The first is to work to improve handwriting. The second is to bypass writing by using compensatory tools or other strategies.
